SOWK 321 Strength-based Social Work Methods
This course emphasizes evidence-based, client-centered methods designed to enhance well-being. Emphasizing a strength-based approach, students will explore the core belief that clients are the experts in their own lives. Central to this course is developing a strong therapeutic alliance, where the working relationship between the social worker and client is paramount. Students will examine the complexities of ethical dilemmas in practice, the planned change process, and strategies to address implicit bias in the working relationship.
