PSED 575 Field Experience in Curriculum and Student Achievement

The professional field experience in educational leadership is designed to provide administration certification candidates with advanced level theory seminars and 120 hours of practical experience in a school setting during which the candidate will develop administrative competencies in curriculum development and the relation of curriculum to student achievement based on the Professional Standards for School Learners and the NJ/PA Departments of Education.  The candidate will be supervised by an ESU faculty person and a field-based administrator.  A portfolio is required at the completion of the course.  This component of the internship is focused on curriculum and student achievement.  Topics include culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy and meeting the needs of diverse learners, engaging teaching, constructed learning, and curriculum and assessment.  Additionally, students will learn how to develop a culture of care and support for students and how to increase the instructional capacity of school personnel.
