BIOL 527 Plant Diversity

This course offers an evolutionary survey of the origin and diversification of plants, including green algae, nonvascular plants, seedless vascular plants, gymnosperms, and angiosperms. Lectures will emphasize anatomical and morphological characteristics of families in each division of land plants, as well an overview of their taxonomy, biogeography, and the methods used to infer their evolutionary history and relationships.
