HLSC 743 Health Policy & Law

This course provides a framework for understanding and analyzing the policy and legal foundations of health infrastructure in the United States.  U.S. Health policy development and implementation, legal issues in health care, including autonomy, privacy, liberty, and proprietary interests, from the perspective of the provider(s) and the patient, regulation of medical services will be addressed.  In addition, standards of care, medical malpractice and liability, access to health care, health insurance, rights and obligations in medical decision-making will be presented.
