MLSP 440 Women and Society in the Literature of Spain and Latin America

This course guides students through an analysis of the representation of female characters in the literature of Spain and Latin America from the sixteenth century to the present. The selected literature will be examined for its aesthetics, for its function within society and for the questions raised by it throughout history. Accompanying the literary readings will be contextual study that highlights the evolution of women's roles in society. Taught in Spanis
